​​Barefoot Massage facilitates deep pressure.
Because the pressure is dispersed over the large surface area of the foot,
and applied to the body very slowly,
it is more comfortable for the body to receive. ​
(Appointments are only available in 90- and 120-minute windows.)
​​The practitioner uses bars to balance and adjust the pressure,
as well as a strap to work with movement and angles.
​
"Ashiatsu" is the Japanese word for this type of massage.​
​"Ashi" means "foot".
"Atsu" means "pressure".

meet MEGAN
West Michigan Barefoot Massage Owner
Licensed Massage Therapist
​
Megan has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2018. She added barefoot massage as a modality in 2024 with training from The Center for Barefoot Massage in Cincinnatti, OH.
Megan is one of West Michigan's most experienced doulas, having attended around 200 births since 2014.
She completed a trauma-informed yoga teacher training through the Mindful School of Yoga in 2023.
She is certified through MLD Institute International to provide Manual Lymphatic Drainage.
​In her free time, you'll find Megan practicing yoga, camping, hiking and kayaking. She spends the majority of her time adoring her three boys, and cheering them on in soccer, football and lacrosse. .

Licensed Massage Therapist
​
Amanda has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2023. She added barefoot massage as a modality in 2025 with training from The Center for Barefoot Massage in Cincinnatti, OH.
​
Amanda majored in Exercise Science and Athletic Training at Aquinas College. Her background includes high school and collegiate level sports that shaped the earliest base for her interest in manual therapy.
​
Amanda lives in the Grand Rapids area with her spouse and 2 cats. She has a passion for all things food & nutrition, with baking in particular. While she's new to the world of plants, she's fully immersed herself in hopes of eventually honing in on a green thumb.
